Okay, time to take the spotlight off myself and brag about my kids — tangentially.

Both of my boys have been blessed to have been accepted to and chosen to attend High Technology High School in Lincroft, NJ.

Today, U.S. News and World Report released its rankings of the Best High Schools in America and High Tech was named the 7TH BEST HIGH SCHOOL IN THE NATION!

Understand, this is not your typical high school. Their social status equivalent of a football team is something called the “Academic Team”, which participates in something akin to “Jeopardy” or “College Bowl”. The “Big Man On Campus” is whomever wins the most science fairs. In other words, this is a place for brain freaks that will someday conquer the world and I couldn’t be prouder. I mean, their school symbol/mascot is a freakin’ atom.

They’ve even just asked moi to participate in their upcoming Career Day, during which time I will try to convince them all not to become writers.  Better to cure cancer or explore Pluto.

Congrats to Mr. Simon and all the fine, fine, fine teachers (professors, really, since about half of them are PhDs), on this well-deserved recognition.

Peace,

Kerry
