KERRY ZUKUS’ DEBUT NOVEL THE FOURTH HOUSE PREMIERS EXCLUSIVELY AT BOOK CLUBS

Exciting novel by first-time author available only at Book of the Month, Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Clubs.

June 29, 2007 (New York, NY):  First-time author Kerry Zukus premiered The Fourth House exclusively at the Book-of-the-Month, Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Clubs this month.  The inclusion of Zukus’ novel in these three clubs which typically feature selections by established authors is a positive endorsement from the respected book club editors.

Set in the coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania, The Fourth House is a compelling first novel.  The reader is drawn into what seems like an ordinary boy-meets-girl love story until an undercurrent of dark family secrets is discovered.  Zukus’ novel is already getting strong reviews.  Peter Filichia of the Newark Star-Ledger raves that The Fourth House is “The best novel I’ve read all year.”

Author Kerry Zukus was born the son of a church organist and the grandson of a coal miner in Frackville, Pennsylvania.  He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and was a figure on the New England theatre scene before moving to New Jersey.  Kerry has served as an elected councilman in Red Bank, New Jersey and has earned the reputation as an expert in urban and downtown revitalization.  His first novel The Fourth House was honored as a finalist for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship.  This award is presented to an American author who has not previously published a novel and whose work exemplifies honesty, determination and insight into modern culture.
