Set in the coal region of Eastern Pennsylvania, The Fourth House is a compelling first novel. Author Kerry Zukus was born the son of a church organist and the grandson of a coal miner in Frackville, Pennsylvania. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and was a figure on the New England theatre scene before moving to New Jersey. Kerry has served as an elected councilman in Red Bank, New Jersey and has earned the reputation as an expert in urban and downtown revitalization. His first novel The Fourth House was honored as a finalist for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship. This award is presented to an American author who has not previously published a novel and whose work exemplifies honesty, determination and insight into modern culture.
