It’s been over a year now I’ve been a selection of the Book of the Month Club.  They only carry about 800 pieces of fiction at a time and they add more new books every month, so it’s survival of the fittest.  When your sales go down, you go out.

Things were starting to dip for moi, especially considering I’ve got nothing but word of mouth going for me and no presence yet in any bookstores in America (thank you, Book of the Month Club.  That was YOUR job!).

But lately it appears that the coal region has finally heard about their native son’s book and has been ordering it from the clubs and lo and behold, THE FOURTH HOUSE is now ranked #117.  Not bad, not bad at all.

I always look above and below me in the sales rankings and I couldn’t help but notice that Ken Follett’s “World Without End” is right above me at #111 and his “Pillars of the Earth”, Oprah’s pick in January of ’08, is behind me at #142.

Oprah

It is said that Oprah personally made these two Follett books bestsellers and now here I am, with no Oprah in my life, squashed between the two of them.

Oprah baby, I want you to open wide and munch down a  Ken Follett sandwich, with Kerry Zukus as the meat between the bread.  Have your people call my people.  Oh yeah!
